จัดงาน JSPS International Forum

ตลอดระยะเวลา 2 วัน ของวันที่ 6-7 มกราคม 2011 ได้มีการจัดประชุมที่โรงแรมสยามซิตี้ ในหัวข้อ “Climatic Changes in Monsoon Asia (CCMA)” ทางเจเอสพีเอสได้รับการสนับสนุนจากกระทรวงศึกษาธิการของญี่ปุ่น เพื่อส่งเสริมการพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีในภาคพื้นเอเชีย การจัดประชุมในครั้งนี้ได้เจเอสพีเอส สำนักงานกรุงเทพได้รับความร่วมมือเป็นอย่างดีจากสำนักงานคณะกรรมการวิจัยแห่งชาติ

ได้เชิญวิทยากรรวมถึงนักวิจัยจากภูมิภาคเอเชีย รวมถึงภูมิภาคในปากีสถานตะวันออก และยังมีผู้เข้าร่วมงาน 170 คนได้ร่วมในการประชุมทั้ง 2 วันเพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในประเด็นต่างๆ

ผู้ร่วมบรรยายหลักในการประชุม 5 ท่าน เป็นผู้มีความรู้เชี่ยวชาญเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบจากสภาพภาวะโลกร้อนเป็นอย่างดี การบรรยายในครั้งนี้ ได้อ้างอิงถึงเรื่อง Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)  ซึ่งนักวิจัยได้ใช้ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ เพื่อทำการวิจัยเกี่ยวกับผลกระทบจากสภาวะโลกที่ทำให้เกิดลมมรสุมในพื้นที่ต่างๆไปทั่วโลก

การประชุมครั้งนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากสถาบันชั้นนำนานาชาติที่มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับการวิเคราะห์สภาพอากาศ และได้มีการนำเสนอในรูปแบบโปสเตอร์จากนักวิจัยรุ่นใหม่ อาทิเช่น  MAHASRI, AMY, MAIRS, iLEAPS, SATREPS, CTCA, และ SAARC, ซึ่งเห็นว่าการประชุมนี้เป็นกิจกรรมที่มีบทบาทสำคัญของภูมิภาคเอเชีย
