On March 24, JSPS Alumni Association of Indonesia (JAAI) organized its General Assembly and the 5th International Symposium online.

The symposium was kicked off with greetings and reports by Prof. Wahyu Dwianto, Chairman of the Symposium.

Following Prof. Wahyu’s greetings, Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, Chairman of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Hisamichi Yamazaki, First Secretary of Science and Technology Affairs, Embassy of Japan delivered Welcome Remarks respectively.

Also, Mr. Hisashi Kato Advisor of International Program Department, Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) delivered Opening Remarks.

As the first part of the symposium, two invited lectures were made as follows: The lectures also answered the questions from the participants in the Q&A session.

Lecturer: Prof. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman, Research Center for Metallurgy and Materials, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).

The second part of the symposium was the FLASH PRESENTATION OF JAAI INNOVATION AWARDS, in which five candidates below presented their innovation and utilization in the society.

After the presentaitons, the Chairman Prof. Wahyu announced the result. Congratulations!

As the end of the symposium, Dr. Yoshio Otani, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office gave Closing Remarks.

The symposium finished successfully with about 130 participants

After the break, JAAI General Assembly was held among the JAAI members.
JAAI President Prof. Wahyu reported its activity and finance in the year and introduced the next fiscal year’s plan.
