NJAA Held “10th Symposium of Nepal JSPS Alumni Association (NJAA)”

On October 31, 2025, the JSPS Nepal Alumni Association (NJAA) organized the 10th Symposium of the Nepal JSPS Alumni Association (NJAA) on the theme “Radiation Safety and Protection Practices in Nepal” in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The symposium began with a welcome speech by Dr. Puspa Raj Paudel, Vice President of NJAA. This was followed by remarks from the distinguished guests listed below, and a speech by Dr. Otani Yoshio, Director of our Center.

The opening session concluded with remarks from Dr. Rijan Bhakta Kayastha, Founding President of NJAA, and Dr. Ranjan Kumar Dahal, President of NJAA.
Following the inaugural session, Dr. Akahane Keiichi from National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology, Japan (QST), delivered the keynote lecture, setting the tone for a series of lectures throughout the day. Dai Liping, the International Program Associate at the JSPS Bangkok Office, presented on “JSPS and Its International Programs.”
The symposium attracted around 100 participants, including experts from academia, research institutions, and government bodies. Presentations and discussions focused on current practices, regulations, and technological advancements in radiation safety and protection, along with their broader applications in areas such as food security and scientific research. The symposium served as a platform for strengthening scientific partnerships and promoting international cooperation between Japan and Nepal.
