On May 29, 2021, the 5th lecture of WEBINAR SERIES 2021 “LIVING IN THE NEW NORMAL AND BEYOND” was held by JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) in partnership with Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

The lecture was opened by welcome remarks by Dr. Danilda Haufana-Duran, President of JAAP, JSPS RONPAKU and BRIDGE Fellow, and Scientist I, Philippine Carabao Center.

After the opening remarks by Dr. Danilda, Dr. Leah J. Buendia, Assistant Secretary for International Cooperation, Department of Science and Technology and Dr. Yoshio Otani, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office delivered inspirational massages, respectively.

Following the remarks and messages, presentation entitled “Humanoid Nurse Robots in a High-Tech World of Human Healthcare in the New Normal” was started by Rozzano C. Locsin, RN; PhD, FAAN, Professor Emeritus, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Tokushima University, Tokushima, Japan and Florida Atlantic University, USA.
In the seminar, Dr. Locsin introduced the idea of connecting nursing and humanoid robotics.
After the presentation, a lot of questions were made regarding application of robotics in Filipino society, privacy security problems, and practical nursing, etc. Dr. Locsin answered honestly to each question.

Finally, Dr. Rowena Eguia, Vice President of JAAP delivered closing remarks, thanking everyone involved in this seminar.

The lecture ended successfully with about 340 participants.
