On 21 October 2020, JSPS Alumni Association of Indonesia (JAAI) held the web lecture with the cooperation of Indonesian Institute of Sciences/Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) and JSPS Bangkok Office entitled “Alternatives and Prospectives of New and Renewable Energies”.
The lecture was started by a brief introduction by Dr. Haznan Abimanyu, the host of this lecture, Head of Research Center for Electrical Power and Mechatronics, LIPI followed by opening speech by Prof. Wahyu Dwianto, Chairman of JAAI.
At this lecture, one Japanese researcher and two Indonesian researchers made presentations regarding “Alternatives and Prospectives of New and Renewable Energies” from their professional point of view.

Title:The Potential of Ocean Renewable Energy in Indonesia
For this seminar, about 90 participants attended and many questions were raised after their presentations. Actually, the total registrants were 169 participants, however the zoom link quota was only for 100 participants, so the rest followed through the Youtube link. Until now, the Youtube link has been viewed by 177 persons.
Finally, Dr. Haznan Abimanyu delivered a conclusion speech and Prof. Yoshio Otani, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, delivered closing remarks, thanking everyone involved in this symposium.
The web lecture ended successfully, we believe that this event could provide fruitful opportunity to learn new knowledge on “New and Renewable Energies”.
