On 27 July, JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) convened JSPS program briefing “Mentoring on JSPS Fellowship” following to the scientific symposium and at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Philippines.
At this session, starting from an opening remark of Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, president of JAAP, Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director, and Mr. Daisuke Yamada, Deputy Director of JSPS Bangkok Office explained JSPS international programs. Dr. Renato G. Reyes, Secretary of JAAP chaired the session.
The session also featured five speakers from JAAP members; Dr. Annabelle V. Briones, Ronpaku Program, Dr. Jonathan Dungca, Core University Program, Dr. Cecilia Galvez, Invitation fellowship program and Bridge fellowship Program, Dr. Karl Marx Quiazon, Post Doctoral Fellowship Program, and Dr. Crispino Saclauso, Core University Program and Asian Core Program, who made speeches on their research experiences in Japan. All speakers emphasized that their research activities were extremely busy but fruitful and encouraged young scientists to take an opportunity to do research in Japan.
This time was the third successive year to organize JSPS program briefing in Philippines. The event was received attention from 80 researchers and students.
