Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director, and Mr. Daisuke Yamada, Deputy Director of JSPS Bangkok Office had a meeting with executive committee members of NJAA. NJAA was approved by Nepal government at the end of 2014. JSPS Bangkok Office members discussed official approval by JSPS headquarters.

Prof. Yamahita suggested NJAA the timeframe to obtain approval from JSPS headquarters as follows. NJAA would work accordingly.

Mid-May NJAA contacts Nepalese Alumni and finalizes founding members
Mid June NJAA sends to JSPS Bangkok Office draft of all necessary documents for official approval
Mid July JSPS Bangkok Office sends final version of documents to JSPS Headquarters
September JSPS headquarters (board of directors) approves NJAA as JSPS official Alumni Association
Oct./Nov. Inauguration ceremony of NJAA at Kathmandu

JSPS Bangkok Office members and NJAA members also visited the Embassy of Japan in Nepal, the Ministry of Education, and JICA Nepal Office to ask for the support to promote NJAA activities.
