On 10 July 2018, the JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Mahidol University Salaya campus. Mahidol University has its origins in Siriraj Hospital founded in 1888, and the hospital’s medical school is known as the 1st higher education institute in Thailand. With such a background, Mahidol University’s medical and pharmaceutical research is highly regarded worldwide.
Prof. Ruengpung Sutthent, Acting Vice President for Research kindly delivered an opening remarks for this seminar. After that, JSPS staff (Director, Deputy Director, and International Program Associates) made a presentation respectively.
In the latter half, two former JSPS fellows gave special speeches for participants.
1st speaker, Dr. Kittiphong Paiboonsukwon (Lecturer, Thalassemia Research Center, Institute of Molecular Biosciences), has an experience as a JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Saitama Medical University. He shared his research experience in Japan and explained the advantage of JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship program.
2nd speaker, Dr. Noppol Arunrat (Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies), is a former RONPAKU fellow and he obtained Ph.D. degree at Hokkaido University. Since he is a very new RONPAKU graduate, he was given a RONPAKU medal at the ceremony held in this February.
