On January 13, 2025, the JSPS Nepal Alumni Association (NJAA) held the 9th Symposium of Nepal JSPS Alumni Association (NJAA) in Kathmandu, Nepal. Research results from Japan and Nepal were exchanged on the theme of responding to wild animals in rural areas.
During the program, Chargé d’Affaires Tamura of the Japanese Embassy in Nepal, Director Yoshio Otani, and others gave speeches, and Associate Professor Naho Mitani of Nihon University from Japan, faculty members of Tribhuvan University and representatives of local farmers from Nepal gave speeches.
In addition, the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Nepal was invited as a guest of honor and listened to the speeches with great interest.
Deputy Director Oikawa also gave an explanation of JSPS’s activities and promoted the use of JSPS programs to Nepalese researchers.
