JSPS guidance seminar was held at NSTDA

On 30 November 2018, JSPS and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) co-organized a guidance seminar at National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in the Thailand Science Park.

NSTDA, founded in 1991, is a research institution affiliated with the Ministry of Science and Technology in Thailand. NSTDA has about 2,000 researchers and its mission is to utilize science and technology for Thailand’s national economic and social development.

In the JSPS part, Director Prof. Yamashita and Deputy Director Mr. Tomiyama provided general information of JSPS followed by a presentation on JSPS international programs by Mr. Niihara and Ms. Minowa, International Program Associates.

Afterwards, Dr. Seksan Papong (Research Specialist, Life Cycle Assessment Lab, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), NSTDA) made a presentation based on his experience as RONPAKU fellow in 2014-2016 at Tokyo City University.

As for JST part, Mr. Yoshihide Kobayashi (Chief, JST Singapore Office) explained a summary of JST and its international programs such as the e-ASIA Joint Research Program, SATREPS Program, and SAKURA Exchange Program in Science.

We would like to thank NSTDA staff and all participants for arranging and attending this seminar. We hope that our seminar helped to understand international program provided by JSPS and JST.
