JSPS guidance seminar at Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT)

On June 29, JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT). TINT is under the supervision of Ministry of Science and Technology and the main objectives are to carry out research and development on nuclear technology for national development and to disseminate the utilization of nuclear technology to gain public acceptance.
We could hold the seminar for the first time with cooperation of Dr. Kampanart Silva, an Executive committee member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT)
It started with a welcome address by Dr. Phiriyatorn Suwanmala, Director of Nuclear Research and Development Division.

Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, expressed his gratitude for holding the seminar, followed by the presentation on JSPS’s outline by Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and the introduction of its international programs by Ms. Akiko Doi and Mr. Kohei Saito, International Program Associates respectively.

Afterwards, Dr. Kampanart, Nuclear Research and Development Division, who obtained PhD at the University of Tokyo under RONPAKU program, made presentations.
He introduced his experience such as application process and research activities in Japan with humor and pictures.

Some 25 participants, mainly young researchers attended. They asked questions about requirements for application and its process and the most of participants showed high interest in JSPS international collaboration program.
