Invitation Fellowships for Research in Japan is designed to enable Japanese researchers to invite their foreign colleagues to Japan to participate in cooperative work and other academic activities. Applications are submitted by the inviting researchers who wish to host overseas researchers in Japan.

(JSPS accepts applications only through Japanese host researchers’ universities.)

Notes: The date noted above is the submission deadline for the Japanese host researchers’ universities. Applicants must send their application documents to their prospective Japanese host researchers well in advance of their deadline. (As some universities have their own deadline, candidates should consult their prospective Japanese host researchers with regard to the time frame.)
