2011年2月4日、バンコク市内Siam City Hotelにて、JSPS-NRCT RONPAKU Medal Award Ceremonyを開催しました。

これは、論文博士号取得希望者に対する支援事業により、2009年度に博士号を取得された研究者の方々に、その栄誉をたたえると共に、より一層の研究を奨励することを目的として、メダルを授与するものです。
今回は日本大使館より坂入倫之一等書記官にお越しいただいたほか、NRCTよりVice Secretary-GeneralであるMrs. Kanchana Pankhoyngamにもご参加いただき、それぞれご挨拶をたまわりました。この他にも、NRCTからはDirector of International AffairsのMs. Choosri Keedumrongkoolにも参加いただいたほか、タイ国JSPS同窓会（JAFT）の理事も複数参加しました。
このセレモニーは2003年3月にJSPS-NRCT Joint Meeting for RONPAKU Fellowsと題して第一回を開催して以来、毎年NRCTと共催しています。2010年2月にタイ国JSPS同窓会が発足したのをきっかけに、その名をJSPS-NRCT RONPAKU Medal Award Ceremonyと改めました。
今年は10名の新規博士号取得者がおり、そのうち8名がセレモニーに参加しました。全体で約30名のJSPS同窓生が見守る中、JSPS国際事業部 星野有希枝 地域交流課長より各人へのメダル授与とそれぞれのメダル授与者による博士論文の発表が行われ、暖かなムードの中にも緊張感のある時間となりました。
