On 18th and 19th February 2020, JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT) Executive Committee Meeting, JAAT General Assembly, JSPS RONPAKU Medal Award Ceremony and Presentations by RONPAKU Medal Awardee and HOPE meeting participant were held at Arnoma Grand Bangkok. Every year, these events are held in conjunction with the JSPS-NRCT-JAAT seminar<\/a>. <\/p>\n

During the 6th EC meeting, they discussed about JAAT Activity for FY2019 and FY2020 under a chairperson Dr. Porphant Ouyyanont, JAAT President.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon of 19th February, JAAT General Assembly was held following the JSPS RONPAKU Medal Award Ceremony and Presentations by RONPAKU Medal Awardee and HOPE meeting participant.<\/p>\n

Firstly, JSPS BRIDGE Fellowship<\/a> awardee presentation was made by Dr. Ubonrat Siripatrawan (Associate Professor, Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Science Chulalongkorn University). She was selected as a BRIDGE fellow in FY2018 and visited University of Tokyo where she had made research under the support of JSPS Fellowship program from 2008 to 2010.<\/p>\n

Secondly, HOPE meeting<\/a> participant presentation was made by Dr. Pongsathorn Dechatiwongse Na Ayuthaya (Assistant Professor, Walailak University). Dr. Pongsathorn participated 11th HOPE meeting which was attended by 104 doctoral students and young researchers from 19 Asia-Pacific and African countries and regions.
\nHe shared his wonderful experience with Nobel Laureates and young researchers during the meeting.<\/p>\n

\nAfterwards, JSPS RONPAKU medal awarding ceremony was held. JSPS Bangkok Office organizes this event every year to congratulate new RONPAKU graduates who successfully obtained Ph.D. degrees from Japanese universities under the support of JSPS RONPAKU program<\/a>.
\nThis year, Dr. Vanida Prasert (Sirindhorn College of Public Health) made presentations on their Ph.D. research.<\/p>\n

After her presentations, the RONPAKU memorial medal and JSPS alumni badge were given to Mr. Masuko and Dr. Porphant respectively.<\/p>\n

\nLastly, JAAT general assembly was held with the attendance of over 30 alumni members from all over the country.
\nDr. Kittisak Sawanyawisuth, JAAT Secretary, reported JAAT activities for the FY2019, such as such as JAAT writing manuscript workshop and so on. And also activities for the FY2020 was discussed.<\/p>\n
