On January 26, JSPS Bangkok Office held a JSPS guidance seminar at Naresuan University, during the 14th Japan Education Fair hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Thailand.<\/p>\n

Naresuan University is the governmental comprehensive university in Phitsanulok province, the lower northern region of Thailand. It was officially founded in 1990, becoming independent from Srinakharinwirot University Phitsanulok Campus. Currently, the University is recognized as one of the top rational universities in Thailand with 21 faculties, colleges, and a demonstration schools.
\nThe Embassy of Japan in Thailand annually hosts Japan Education Fair at Naresuan, Khon Kaen, Ubonrachatani, and Prince of Songkla University every year respectively.
\nAt the 14th Japan Education Fair in Naresuan, Mr. Shiro Terashima, first secretary of Embassy of Japan in Thailand, and delegates from Japanese universities including Osaka University, Kyoto University, Takushoku University, Tokai University, Nagoya University, Fukui University of Technology and supporting organizations- JASSO and JSPS made a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Sujin Jinahyon, President of Naresuan University.<\/p>\n

Naresuan University has concluded MOU with 8 Japanese Universities so far. Prof. Dr. Sujin Jinahyon proposed us to strengthen cooperation with Japanese University by promoting scholarship program and exchange program of students or University staff. Mr. Shiro Terashima told him the information that there were more than 40 branch offices of Japanese University in Thailand.<\/p>\n

Courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Sujin Jinahyon, President of Naresuan University<\/p><\/div>\n

After the courtesy visit, JSPS Bangkok Office held the guidance seminar \u201cIntroduction of JSPS activity in Asia and Sharing information about research opportunity in Japan\u201d.
\nFirst of all, Ms. Noriko Furuya, deputy director of JSPS Bangkok Office introduced overview of JSPS and JSPS Bangkok Office. And Ms. Hisako Tsuji, International Program Associate explained about the JSPS international program in details.
\nJSPS Bangkok Office also invited two JSPS alumni of Naresuan University. Dr. Ratchanee Mukhjang, Assistant Professor of Faculty of Business, Economic and Communications, former JSPS RONPAKU fellow delivered a lecture regarding her research experience in Japan. She obtained Ph.D. degree at Aichi University in 2014.
\nDr. Siripong Premjet, Associate Professor of Faculty of Sciences, former JSPS Invitation fellow gave the participants some advice of mental attitude to conduct their research in Japan. Dr. Siriporng obtained Ph.D. degree at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Ehime University supported by Japanese Governmental scholarship. <\/p>\n

\nAt last, Dr. Chantana Chanbanchong, former ROPAKU Fellow made a closing remarks. Dr. Chantana is also former recipient of Monbukagakusho (MEXT) scholarship.
\nMore than 60 researchers participated in the seminar. To vitalize JSPS alumni activities, it is quite significant to strengthen collaboration with regional universities and cooperation with former JSPS fellows.<\/p>\n
