With the cooperation of JSPS, the JSPS Alumni Association Thailand (JAAT), and the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), we successfully held the annual symposium on \u201cFlood Disaster Management under Extreme Weather: Lessons Learned from Japan and Thailand\u201d on March 12th, 2025.<\/p>\n

A total of four speakers from Japan and Thailand were invited to share their expertise, contributing to disaster prevention efforts and future water-related risk management.<\/p>\n

The event began with welcome remarks from:
\nAssoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Aimimtham (President of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT))
\nProf. Dr. Yoshio Otani (Director of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), Bangkok Office)
\nMr. TANIMURA Takamasa (First Secretary, Embassy of Japan in Thailand.)
\nFollowed by opening remarks from:
\nDr. Wiparat De-ong (Executive Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT))
\nApproximately 70+ participants attended the symposium, engaging in insightful discussions.<\/p>\n
