On 30 November, JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Thailand National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) that is located in Thailand Science Park. Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and Japan-ASEAN Science, Technology and Innovation Platform (JASTIP) joined us as same as seminar last year.
\nNSTDA is supervised by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and is responsible for developing S&T in the nation including research development, technology transfer and human resource development. NSTDA consists of four national research centers, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), and National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC).
\nThe seminar started with an opening address by Assoc. Prof. Chanwit Tribuddharat M. D., Ph. D., Vice President, International Collaboration, NSTDA, who is a member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT).

Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director, JSPS Bangkok Office, expressed his gratitude for holding this seminar and explained JSPS\u2019s outline and activities of JSPS Bangkok Office. Then, Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and Mr. Kohei Saito, International Program Associate introduced JSPS international programs such as \u201cFellowship programs\u201d, \u201cRONPAKU program\u201d, \u201cBilateral program\u201d and \u201cCore-to-Core program\u201d respectively.

Next, Mr. Yoshihide Kobayashi, Chief, JST Singapore Office and e-ASIA Special Program Coordinator, e-ASIA IRP Secretariat Office explained JST\u2019s outline and introduced Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS) and its international programs such as e-ASIA Joint Research Program (e-ASIA JRP) and Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Exchange Program in Science).

Finally, Dr. Ayako Fujieda, Deputy Director, Kyoto University ASEAN Center, introduced JASTIP that aims to build a platform for Japan-ASEAN science and technology cooperation.

Holding the seminar together with JST and JASTIP enabled the Thai researchers to understand comprehensive information about the Japanese funding agencies and its programs.
