On 28 November, JSPS Bangkok Office organized a JSPS guidance seminar at Phayathai Campus, Mahidol University, its origins in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1988 by Rama V, and the hospital\u2019s medical school is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand, granting its first medical degree in 1893. Later, the university was renamed to \u201cMahidol University\u201d in 1969, and nowadays the university is one of the leading national universities in Thailand, internationally known and recognized for higher education institution.
\nFirst, Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, expressed his gratitude for holding the seminar. He explained about Japanese funding agencies, and different role between JSPS and JST.

After the photo session, Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, made a presentation on JSPS\u2019s outline and activities of JSPS Bangkok Office. Then, Ms. Akiko Doi and Mr. Kohei Saito, International Program Associates introduced JSPS international programs such as a Fellowship program or RONPAKU program respectively.

Afterwards, Dr. Kittiphong Paiboonsukwong, a member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand, who has experienced research at Saitama Medical University as a JSPS post-doctoral fellow, made a presentation in Thai language. He explained about research activities and life in Japan with humor.

Some young and experienced researchers including researcher who had applied for JSPS international programs, participated in the seminar. In the Q&A session, we received many questions such as a screening criteria about Bilateral Programs and Core-to-Core Program, through which we realized that many participants showed a high interest in JSPS programs.
