On June 1, JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Mae Fah Luang University which is a new national university established on 25 September 1998 .
\nThe seminar was kicked off with the Welcome address and opening remarks by Assoc. Prof. Chayaporn Wattanasiri, Vice President of Mae Fah Luang University.<\/p>\n

Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, expressed his gratitude for holding the seminar, followed by the presentation on JSPS\u2019s outline by Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and the introduction of its international programs by Ms. Akiko Doi and Mr. Kohei Saito, International Program Associates respectively.<\/p>\n

Afterward, Dr. Sutthiwal Setha, who conducted research as a post-doctoral fellowship at Hiroshima Prefectural University and Chiba University, introduced her experiences such as application process and research activities in Japan. In addition, it is great pleasure for us that she will be invited to Japan from December 2017 to October 2018 to collaborate with colleagues of Kagoshima University in carrying out research through long-term visits of Invitation fellowship. <\/p>\n

There were over 40 participants including dean and deputy dean of faculties and they asked questions about requirements for application and its process.<\/p>\n

Finally, Associate Prof. Chayaporn, Vice President, informed participants that it is important for Thai researchers to make connection with Japanese colleagues to apply for the JSPS international program. Then, Prof. Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, introduced that Thai researchers has good environment to find Japanese colleagues because there are 48 Japanese university branch offices in Thailand. <\/p>\n
