On 18 November, JSPS Bangkok Office organized a JSPS guidance seminar at Gadjah Mada University, a national university in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and this was the second seminar since 2013.<\/p>\n

The seminar started with an opening address by Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, Vice Director of Directorate of Partnership, Alumni and global initiatives, followed by the presentation of JSPS\u2019s outline by Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, and the introduction of its international programs by Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and Mr. Toshio Ohta, International Program Associate.

And then, Dr. Siti Subandiyah, who obtained her PhD at Shizuoka University through JSPS RONPAKU (Dissertation PhD) Program, introduced her experience in the program. As Dr. Siti was involved in the other JSPS\u2019s international programs like \u201cInvitation Fellowships for Research in Japan\u201d and \u201cBilateral Programs\u201d, her presentation was valuable for the participants.

In the Q&A session, there were basic questions, such as whether to be possible to apply for the social science field or not, and whether research institutions other than universities can be a host institution or not. Therefore, we felt a need to further promote JSPS international programs in the area.
