And then, Prof. Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, made a congratulatory address and introduced the four pillars on JSPS\u2019s activities. Prof. Yamashita also mentioned that supporting the alumni\u2019s activities was in line with one of the pillars \u201cBuilding robust international cooperative networks\u201d and that the official establishment of the alumni would enable to strengthen cooperation with Indonesia and develop various programs between both countries.<\/p>\n
Dr. Siti Nuramaliati Projono, LIPI, delivered a speech on behalf of Prof. Iskandar Zulkaraen, Chairman of LIPI, and expressed his expectations such as strengthening of the network in Indonesian S&T through the alumni in the future.

After photo session, there were invited speeches by Dr. L. T. Handoko, LIPI, and Prof. Yamashita. Dr. Handoko introduced collaboration JSPS and LIPI, a counterpart of JSPS, and Prof. Yamashita introduced JSPS\u2019s outline and international programs, among the opinions from the participants was that they wished to form network with Japanese Nobel prize laureates, and it showed their high sense of enhancing academic level in the nation.

Dr. Hery Yogaswara, Prof. Hadi Susilo Arifin, Dr. Haznan Abimanyu and Haris Gunawan made keynote speeches under the themes of \u201cSocial Issues\u201d, \u201dFood & Agriculture\u201d\u2019, \u201cEnergy\u201d and \u201cEnvironment\u201d ,which were the highly interesting fields in Indonesia, respectively.<\/p>\n
At the closing, Ms. Rr Nur Tri Aries Suestiningtyas M. A, LIPI, delivered address with thanks to continuing support from JSPS and mentioned the continuous preparation for the establishment of the alumni on the basis of the congress.
\nThere were more than 100 participants, the majority of whom were involved in JSPS\u2019s programs, and the alumni is expected to become the largest one in ASEAN regions if officially approved.
