On 16 November 2015, JSPS Bangkok Office joined “Japan Education Fair,” organized by Japan Embassy in Thailand together with Japan Student Services Organization and five Japanese universities including Fukui University of Technology, Kyoto University, Nagoya University, Tokai University, Tokyo University of Technology (alphabetical order). While Japanese Embassy and universities visited the Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, JSPS Bangkok office visited Mahasarakham University and organized a guidance seminar for academic staff members.
JSPS guidance seminar, attended by around 50 students and researchers provided information on science and technology policy of Japan and JSPS international programs.
Two former JSPS fellows also made a speech on their research experiences in Japan. Associate Professor Rojchai Satrawaha, director of Walai Rukhavej Research Institute obtained doctoral degree from Tokyo Agricultural University under the support of JSPS RONPAKU program encouraged young faculty members to actively apply for JSPS programs. Dr. Weerachai Saijuntha, lecturer of Walai Rukhavej Research Institute acquired JSPS invitation fellowship (long-term) and did research in Kochi University, talked about his life in laboratory and friendship with Japanese students and researchers.
Thanks to the 2 speakers, the briefing session was very informative, providing specific advice for researchers in Mahasarakham University.
JSPS Bangkok office responded to strong demand for information on research fund among local university’s researchers in the same seminar held at this University last year. We would like to provide the information to access to international research fund actively.
