On July 4, JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (STOU). It was the Open University which uses a distance teaching and learning system. Students can learn on their smartphones and personal computers whenever and wherever.
Prof. Dr. Porphant, the president of JAAT, invited us to conduct this guidance seminar.
The seminar was kicked off with the opening remarks by Prof. Dr. Prasart Suebka, Acting President of STOU. He made a speech about international relationship. He suggested that researchers in Thai and Japan cooperate with each other more than ever.
In the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok office, expressed his gratitude for holding the seminar.
In the presentation, Mr. Tomiyama, Deputy Director, introduced JSPS’s outline followed by the introduction of various international programs by Ms. Usui and Mr. Hamabata, International Program Associates.
Afterwards, Prof. Dr. Porphant gave a speech about his research experience in Kyoto for JSPS postdoctoral fellowship.
Many questions were raised after the presentation. We feel much eager from the participants to get relationship with Japanese researchers.
We are willing to hold guidance seminar around Thai, and give meaningful information to researchers from now on.
