JAAM held “JAAM-ASM-JSPS STIE SYMPOSIUM”

JSPS Malaysia Alumni Association (JAAM), the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM), and JSPS Bangkok Office jointly organized the “JAAM-ASM-JSPS STIE SYMPOSIUM” on August 19th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The theme of this seminar was “Towards the Science of Active Aging,” and a total of three speakers, including one researcher from Japan and two from Malaysia, gave presentations.
At the beginning of the symposium, Director Otani delivered opening remarks, and International Program Associate Mr. Okuya provided an explanation of JSPS international programs. Subsequently, presentations were given by Professor Masashi Yanagisawa, Prof. Emerita Dato’ Dr. Rashidah Shuib, and Dato’ Lawrence Cheah Seong Paik on topics such as the importance of sleep, the current situation of aging societies in Japan and Malaysia, and how to address aging.
