Signing Ceremony for Memorandum of Agreement of Master’s Double Degree Program between Kasetsart University, Thailand and Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan

On July 14, 2021, Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand and Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan held the Signing Ceremony for Memorandum of Agreement of Master’s Double Degree Program between KU and NAIST by online meeting. JSPS Bangkok Office attended the ceremony as a guest.

The ceremony was opened with remarks by Mr. Krit Tankanarat, Consul-General, Royal Thai Consulate General in Osaka, Dr. Yoshio Otani, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, and Prof. Emeritus Dr. Tamon Ueda, Chief Advisor and Acting Executive Director, AUN/SEED-Net, respectively.

After the remarks, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat, KU President and Dr. Kazuhiro Shiozaki, NAIST President greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of this double degree program.

In the ceremony, KU and NAIST presented the exchange history between both universities as a background for the program.
From KU, Assoc. Prof. Srijidtra Charoenlarpnopparut, Dean, Graduate School, Assoc. Prof. Peerayuth Charnsethikul, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Oratai Jongprateep, ICE-Matter / DDP coordinator presented on the topic “Outcome of JICA project and perspective on Double Degree Program”.

From NAIST, Prof. Jun Ohta, Executive Director/Vice President and Prof. Hiroharu Ajiro made a presentation titled as “Research at NAIST”.

Following the presentations, Dr. Chongrak Wachrinrat and Dr. Kazuhiro Shiozaki signed The Memorandum of Agreement of Master’s Double Degree Program.

Finally, Dr. Tsukasa Ogasawara, Executive Director, Vice President, NAIST delivered closing remarks.
