On June 6, the JSPS Bangkok Office organized JSPS guidance seminar at Kasetsart University Kamphaeng Saen Campus. Kasetsart University, founded in 1943, is the 3rd national university in Thailand. We hold this guidance seminar annually with the kind support of Dr. Suratwadee Jiwajinda, Executive committee member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT). This year, we had about 20 participants including some graduate students with various background.
The seminar was kicked off with the opening address by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tiwa Pakoktom (Head of Research and Academic Service Center, Faculty of Agriculture at Kamphaeng Saen).
In our presentation, Director Prof. Yamashita and Deputy Director Mr. Tomiyama explained JSPS’s mission and how we collaborate with Thailand. Mr. Niihara and Ms. Minowa, International Program Associates followed them by introducing JSPS’s international programs such as International Fellowships for Research in Japan, RONPAKU Program, Bilateral Programs, and Core-to-Core Program.
Afterwards, Dr. Suratwadee made a special speech based on her experience as a RONPAKU fellow at Kyoto University. JAAT activities were also introduced in her speech.
We appreciate this opportunity to hold JSPS guidance seminar at Kasetsart University, and it is our great pleasure if we could provide useful information to the participants.
