JSPS guidance seminar at KamphaengSaen Campus, Kasetsart University

On 2 May, JSPS Bangkok Office organized a JSPS guidance seminar same as the last year at KamphaengSaen Campus, Kasetsart University. The university is the first national agricultural university with a history of more than 70-year-old in Thailand. Though it now has several departments, it still receives a worldwide appraisal in the field of agriculture and forestry.

The seminar started with an opening address by Dr. Seksom Attamangkune, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, followed by the presentation regarding JSPS’s outline by Prof. Kuniaki Yamashita, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office, and the introduction of its international programs by Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and Mr. Toshio Ohta, International Program Associate.

In addition, Dr. Suratwadee Jiwajinda, an Executive committee member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT), who obtained her PhD at Kyoto University through JSPS RONPAKU (Dissertation PhD) Program, presented the procedure to apply for the program and her experiences during stay in Japan.
In the Q&A session, Dr. Tiwa Pakoktom, Head of Research and Academic Service Center, who studied in Japan with scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Japan, also answered the questions from the students who were highly interested in studying in Japan.
