11月1日に、JSPSネパール同窓会（NJAA）と当センターが共催で「The Eighth Symposium of Nepal JSPS Alumni Association」をネパール・カトマンズで開催しました。本セミナーは「Transport Connectivity in Nepal: Challenges and Opportunities」をテーマに、日本から2名、ネパールから3名の計5名が講演を行いました。
シンポジウムの冒頭では大谷センター長があいさつを行いました。その後、政策研究大学院大学の森地茂客員教授、国際協力機構（JICA）の小泉幸弘次長、Nepal Academy of Sciences and Technology のProf. Bishal Nath Upreti、Infrastructure Policy Specialist のDr. Surya Raj Acharya、Department of Railways のMr. Rohit Kumar Bisuralから、ネパールの交通事情や他国の交通政策の状況、ネパールの交通に関する課題などについて講演が行われました。最後に、億谷国際協力員がJSPSに関する事業説明を行いました。
