JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) held the 1st lecture of WEBINER SERIES 2021 “LIVING IN THE NEW NORMAL AND BEYOND”

On 25 January 2021, the 1st lecture of WEBINER SERIES 2021 “LIVING IN THE NEW NORMAL AND BEYOND”, was held by JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines (JAAP) in cooperation with the International Affairs Office of Central Luzon State University.

The lecture was opened by a welcome remarks by Dr. Danilda Hufana-Duran, President of JAAP.

After the welcome remarks by Dr. Danilda, Dr. Edgar A. Orden, President of Central Luzon State University, Dr. Leah J. Buendia, Assistant Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Dr. Yoshio Otani, Director of JSPS Bangkok Office delivered short massages.

Then Dr. Orlex B. Yllano, Department of Biology, College of Science and Technology Adventist University of the Philippines made a presentation entitled “NEW START for the NEW NORMAL”.

After his presentation, many questions were raised and he answered each question politely.

Finally, Dr. Rowena Eguia, Vice President of JAAP delivered closing remarks, thanking everyone involved in this seminar.

The lecture ended successfully, with about 150 participants.

The current pandemic has affected all sectors of our society and brought unprecedented stress to people worldwide. The JSPS Alumni Association of the Philippines is true to its mission in providing technical and other research-related services, especially in these challenging times. To jump-start this year’s webinar series on “Living in the New Normal and Beyond”. Dr. Orlex B. Yllano presented his collaborative research and networks on Mangrove Conservation Genetics in Japan and the Philippines. The latter part of his talk focusses on the health and lifestyle program being practiced by the Adventist University of the Philippines community to cope and live in the new normal.
