JSPS guidance seminar at Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Kasetsart University

On May 25, JSPS Bangkok Office organized a JSPS guidance seminar at Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Kasetsart University.
We annually hold a seminar of the same kind since FY 2013 with cooperation of Dr. Suratwadee Jiwajinda, an Executive committee member of JSPS Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT).
The seminar was kicked off with the opening address by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tiwa Pakoktom, Head of Research and Academic Services Center, Faculty of Agriculture, who has studied at Tokyo university of Agriculture and Technology in Japan with scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in Japan, followed by the presentation on JSPS’s outline by Ms. Noriko Furuya, Deputy Director, and the introduction of its international programs by Ms. Akiko Doi, International Program Associate, and Mr. Kohei Saito, International Program Associate.

Afterwards, Dr. Suratwadee, who experienced in JSPS program, made presentations.
Dr. Suratwadee, who obtained PhD at Kyoto University under RONPAKU program, introduced her experience such as application process and research activities in Japan.

There were over 25 participants and some of them have studied in Japan such as Kyoto university, Osaka university and so on. However, as most of participants were students and young researchers, they asked questions about requirements for application and its process of the Fellowship Programs and RONPAK Program. In addition, participants, who intend to apply for JSPS international collaboration program of this year, asked specific content of these.

As noticed that some participant asked again questions about requirements for application and its process even after seminar, most of participant showed high interest in JSPS international collaboration program.
